🏑 YEAR-END REVIEW – SPORTS ARENA SPECIAL

FIELD HOCKEY

2025 has been a mixed year for Indian Hockey.

👩 Women’s Hockey

Women's Hockey started on a bright note as they claimed a shoot-out bonus against Olympic Champion & WR1 Netherlands in the Pro League.

Soon the charisma faded out as the Women's Team managed just 10 points from 16 matches & relegated from the Pro League.

The Indian Women's Team won Silver at the Women's Asia Cup after losing to host China in the final.

👨 Men’s Hockey

In contrast, the Men's team swept through the Asia Cup, remaining undefeated en route to the title & qualified for the World Cup.

The Men’s team wrapped up the year with a runner-up finish at the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup.

🧑‍🎓 Junior Men’s Hockey

The Junior Men's Team, under the guidance of Double Olympic medalist P. R. Sreejesh, finished as runners-up at the prestigious Sultan of Johor Cup.

Continuing their impressive form, host India won the bronze medal at the Junior Hockey World Cup, scripting a remarkable comeback with four goals in the last quarter.

🔮 Looking Ahead

2026 is set to be pivotal for Team India 🇮🇳.

The Hockey World Cup and the Asian Games await next year, with the Asian Games winner earning a direct berth to the Los Angeles 2028.
